Happy New Year...We took a break in the newsletter for a couple of months and now it's time to get back to it.

I'm using a combined list for this year's mailings, and if you are getting duplicates, I apologize, just let me know and I will fix it.  Also, if you no longer wish to receive these updates, let me know and I will take you off the list, no hard feelings!  Remember, you can always catch up on our travels at http://pdonovan.net/

Since our last note, we have "moved" our Florida base to Silver Springs.  We left the Hitchhiker in Montana and bought a Montana fifth-wheel to put on our lot in Silver Springs.  I know that's a lot of Montanas, but try to keep up.  We've sold the monster truck and are now driving a Honda CR-V...and getting about 30 mph...and loving the $1.59 gasoline!  So, obviously we will not be towing anything around the country.  Our plan is to spend the summers at Eagle Nest RV Resort working our tails off (three days on and twelve days off) for our wonderful bosses Joan and Walter Fouty, and then spend the winters in Florida or traveling somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere.  But I'm getting ahead of myself a bit...

While we have been in Florida, we've spent some time in Tallahassee visiting family and friends.  Lou and Betsy Kellenberger have been kind enough to let us stay in their guest room...and we can never thank them enough for that.  We have also had an opportunity to spend time with our Tallahassee grand chlldren...Lexi, Cavan and Ronan.

And if that was not enough excitement, we've been dealing with a minor medical crisis for the past couple of weeks...During Paula's annual physical they detected an atrial fibrillation so they put her on warfarin for awhile and did some additional tests.  We went to a cardiologist who suggested a stress test, which Paula took last Monday (12/29)...and failed.  Then the doctor said we'd better do a cardiac catheterization to see what is going on...so we did that on Tuesday (12/30).  This time she passed with flying colors...and the cardiologist even decided to stop the warfarin and just recommended a 325 mg aspirin per day.  It was a busy day...we got to the hospital at 5:45 that morning and got home that afternoon at 3:00.  Of course, all this took place in Tallahassee...and our Florida fifth-wheel is in Silver Springs.  So Wednesday (12/31) we made the trip to Silver Springs to pack for our three month adventure in the antipodes.

For a while there I was afraid that I'd have to make the trip solo, but Paula has been cleared...so this afternoon, we're off to Orlando to catch a flight to Perth...Oh, BTW, this is being created on our new traveling laptop, a Dell Mini 9, running Ubuntu...and it's way cool.

So, the adventure continues!
