Greetings!

Some of you might know that there was a fabulous sporting event in Denver this weekend…No, I don’t mean the Colorado Rockies wuppin’ of the Arizona Diamondbacks.  I’m talking about the International Gay Rodeo Association 2007 Finals which were held at the National Western Stock Show Events Center from Friday to Sunday!

The gay Rodeo, which started in 1976 in Reno Nevada, has been one of the premier entertainment events for the gay community. Since its inception, it has branched out into many other local organizations and cities around the United States and Canada which have come together to form the International Gay Rodeo Association.

In 1987, the IGRA held the first finals event where the top 20 qualifiers from local and regional competitions could compete for top honors in classic rodeo competitions such as bull & bronco riding, barrel racing and other traditional rodeo events as well as some hilarious "camp" events designed specifically for the Gay Rodeo. .

Here are a few photos of the rodeo activity.
