While we do not have too many neighbors here on Tilloo, we do have lots of company from the various ”pets” that we have with us.  There are lots of birds like Bananaquit, Thick-Billed Vireo, Emerald Hummingbird, West Indian Red-bellied Woodpecker, and Bahama Mockingbird that we don’t see in the US.  There are also more common species such as Belted Kingfisher, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Green Heron, and Osprey that hang around near our dock.

We also have Curly Tail Lizards and Anoles everywhere, and occasionally we encounter the dreaded Bald-tail Tilloonian Ground Squirrel, but we try to avoid them as much as possible.

This guy was walking across the path yesterday.

There are all shapes and sizes of hermit crabs on the island.  This one has a very nice True Tulip shell for his current home.
