After high school, he had a great time for two years at the University of Florida, returned to Daytona Beach Junior College and received an AA and an AS degree in Electronics. He completed college education by graduating from Georgia State in 1984 with a BA in Finance.
John married the girl God put on earth for him on March 12, 1966 in Our Lady of Lourdes. Her birthday is April 12th - only messed up once!
They have two good sons, Scott & Keith, two great granddaughters, Erin and Brianna, and one beautiful daughter in law, Tiffany.
John began his career with IBM in May of '67 as a technician at Martin Marietta in Orlando. He became very good at fixing those mainframes, became an area specialist, and traveled the southeast.
The Family moved to Poughkeepsie, NY in 1976 and spent four wonderful snow filled years. His expertise increased as he traveled the world. In 1980 IBM made a mistake and moved John into the ranks of management.
Again, the Family moved to Marietta, GA and spent 17 years finishing out his career. The boys graduated from high school and both joined the Navy. The house was sold, and Pat & John moved to midtown Atlanta into the first of 3 condos.
In 1997, John & Pat retired to Ponce Inlet to be with family. Then their last move (right!) came in 2001 when they moved to the LPGA area in Daytona.
John followed Pat into an active retirement as the hands went up to volunteer in both church and community.
John is now an usher at Prince of Peace, is the scheduler of the Altar Servers and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Once a week he collects food for the church pantry. He volunteers time at the Florida Memorial Cancer Center, and is the treasurer of the hospital gift shop. And don't forget Habitat for Humanity.
He is a supervisor on the Indigo CDD, a board member of his HOA and a member of the master architectural review committee of LPGA. And to top things off - the first volunteer code enforcement officer in Daytona Beach.
